Hash board basics for efficiency sessions
A firmware day cannot repair a dying board. Before you claim a seat at Site Groveline, we ask for a short health pass so workshop hours stay on tuning rather than triage.
Clean before you measure
Dust blankets change thermal readings overnight. Blow out heatsinks, check for bent fins, and confirm fan spin under load. Greasy filters from street-facing intakes in Yannawa-adjacent rooms are a common surprise.
Count persistent chip errors
If a board already shows repeating chip errors on stock firmware, bring that log when you register. We may suggest a repair shop visit instead of a tuning seat, or convert your day to observation with a partial refund.
Match boards inside one chassis
Mixed revision boards in a single miner complicate voltage steps. Note the board labels before the workshop so instructors can decide whether to tune conservatively or isolate a single board for demonstration.
PSU headroom matters
Efficiency sessions assume the PSU can hold the rail during load swings. Undersized or aging supplies make clamp readings jittery and waste cohort time. Bring the PSU model printed on the case when you write to the desk.
